Villa Drake

1968–1970

A house must be able to cope with a great deal. Something I don’t like is architects who complain that the furniture in their houses is wrong, the wrong things are there. The house ought to stand that. Thun-Olle used to say: “You must be banal at the end, otherwise people won’t dare to move in.” But keeping control over the banal is a great art, vouchsafed to masters like Evert Taube and Erik Ahlsén.
