Forty oceanic islands subject to diverse forms of territorial claims. Some have been contested for centuries while others behave as enclaves for future extraction sites in open oceans.
While these hand made ceramic models of islands are accurate in plan projection, elevations are deformed to play with loopholes in the so called “laws of the sea”, by extension making some treaties irrelevant and arbitrary re balancing some of the ongoing territorial claims.
Digitally drawn and hand made by Luis Callejas and Charlotte Hansson. Fire, advice and obscure formulas by Rodrigo Callejas and Juliana Velez.
